About MESF

Malaysia Electronic Sports Federation (MESF) is the governing body for all electronic sports in Malaysia (formerly known as Esports Malaysia or ESM). Originally registered on the 4th December 2014 with the National Sports Commissioner (in Malay Pesuruhjaya Sukan Malaysia) as an association, it was promoted to federation status in 2020. Co-founder Dato’ Ananth S.Nathan is also the elected president and together with the new management members have reinvigorated esports in Malaysia from grassroots to industry level.

Vision

To be the standard bearer for the diverse and inclusive esports ecosystem in Southeast Asia. By measured leadership, professionalism, expertise and enthusiasm: MESF will create a solid base from which the esports community; local, regional or national, individual players through to the industry as a whole, can thrive and prosper in Malaysia.

Mission

Official regulatory engagement & development of esports ecosystem framework with a sustainably governed and open management to increase esports stability and Malaysia’s international standing.

Building on the successes of SEA Games 2019 we aim to promote Malaysia as a strong, fair and competitive international voice in esports.

Education and awareness to promote esports and to find and support talent to benefit players, businesses and for nation-building.

MESF believes there should be no barrier to entry for esports in Malaysia and we should engage all levels of the ecosystem, from grassroots to high profile sponsorship partners and events.

STATEMENT FROM MESF PRESIDENT

Dear Malaysians, it has been my unwavering endeavour to create lasting value for my fellow country men and women. Six years ago, my good friend, Dato’ Latt Shariman and I founded Esports Malaysia, with great hopes of making esports history for Malaysia. Since then we have nurtured some outstanding talent and forged many brilliant partnerships. Validation of the vision and the collective effort of the MESF team was Malaysia’s results at the SEA Games in 2019. We have come a long way and have established Malaysia as a pioneering country in the ever evolving esports ecosystem. There is still much to do.

The world is moving swiftly without borders - MESF can help create identity, unity and strength through technology during this inspiring era. Esports are fundamentally inclusive and I aspire for everyone to join us making this incredible community stronger to benefit, not only ourselves, but Malaysia globally. MESF are dedicated and focused to promote esports in Malaysia so we can become the world’s foremost esport nation.
